La Mirada is one of the top-performing and most successful Pop Warner associations in Orange County, and we’re excited for another fantastic season! A warm welcome to all new families joining us, and a special thank you to our returning participants.
LMMYF Boundaries – To participate in La Mirada Matadores Youth Football, you must live within our association’s boundaries. We are excited to announce that our boundaries have recently expanded into Whittier! For more information, visit us during in-person sign-ups or reach out to us directly.
If you reside outside our boundaries, you will need to obtain a geographic waiver from your home association. Please let us know if you require a waiver, as you will not be able to participate without one
Eligibility & Registration – La Mirada Pop Warner is open to athletes aged 5 to 13. League age is determined based on your age as of July 31st.
- Registration is first-come, first-served.
- Age Calculator: Your league age is your age on July 31st of the current year.

- Please note: We have a strict no-refund policy to avoid misunderstandings.
- All participants are required to fulfill a league-sponsored fundraising obligation.
🚨 Any returning player with an outstanding balance is ineligible to register until the previous balance is paid in full.
Volunteering Requirement – Our league is 100% volunteer-run, and all participants are required to volunteer as needed. There is no set number of required hours, but without volunteers, our league would not exist! Parents and guardians are expected to contribute to the success of the program.
Important Dates:
- Teams will be formed in late April, and coaches will reach out in early May.
- First practice: July 15th.

🔹 Non-Resident Applications: Limited availability, accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
🚨 All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
Where Do Your Registration Fees Go? Your registration fees help cover essential league operational expenses, ensuring we can continue to provide a quality program.
- City Fees (7.3%) – Covers participant fees for residents and non-residents, as well as utility costs (field lights).
- School District Field Usage Fee (7.9%) – Required payment for access to school-owned facilities.
- Oversight Board Assessments (25.9%) – Covers league medical & liability insurance, participant travel, referee fees, EMT services, and national/regional fees.
- Equipment Reconditioning & Replacement (10.8%) – Ensures all helmets and pads meet safety regulations.
- Uniforms (25.2%) – Covers new and replacement uniforms for participants.
- Program Events (2.2%) – Supports league-hosted events and special activities.
- Marketing (7.2%) – Outreach efforts to grow and promote the program.
- Field Maintenance Fees (0.7%) – Covers upkeep and maintenance of practice and game fields.
- Taxes on Annual Fundraiser (3.6%) – Pays required taxes on funds raised through annual fundraising efforts.
- Administrative Costs (10%) – General operational expenses, including league management, communications, and compliance.
